Plans are in the pipeline to create a designated course in Cayman for wannabe accountants.

At their 8th Annual Gala last Saturday (10 October), the Cayman Islands Society of Professional Accountants said it wants to work with colleges to provide necessary qualifications.

CISPA President Baron Jacob said: “We will be launching our education counsel, which will endevour to work closely with UCCI, ICCI, the Ministry of Education and our international bodies to investigate how we can work towards providing an accountancy qualification right here available to our people in the Cayman Islands.”

Mr. Jacob also presented a cheque to Minister of Education Hon. Tara Rivers for $25,000 in support of their mathematics programmes.
