Appleby appoints Partner to Cayman Dispute Resolution team

Appleby today announced that David Lee has joined the firm’s Dispute Resolution practice as a Partner.  He joins from Norton Rose Fulbright LLP, where he was a Partner since 2011.  He specialises in disputes involving banks and funds, and has particular experience of cross-border disputes involving complex financial products as well as disputes arising out of fund insolvencies.

Andrew Bolton, Global Head of the Dispute Resolution practice, said, “I am delighted to have someone of David’s calibre and experience join our team.  His experience in London, Hong Kong and Dubai will fit extremely well with the complex international matters that we handle, and help us to build on our already leading disputes practice.”   

Whilst in Hong Kong, David led Norton Rose Fulbright’s regulation and investigations practice, including advising on Hong Kong’s highest profile banking corruption investigation. In London, he led Norton Rose Fulbright’s funds litigation practice, including advising the investment manager in respect of one of Cayman’s largest fund insolvencies.

David was admitted to the Cayman Islands Bar on 17 April and is also qualified in England and Wales and Hong Kong.
