For the 11th consecutive year, the Cayman Islands Shipping Registry has been put on the so-called “White List” by an international port control group that rates safety and other issues pertinent to shipping.
Ships flying the Cayman Islands flag are rated for enforcement of safety, prevention of pollution, and living and working conditions aboard ships. Cayman flagged vessels are rated as “Low Risk” in major international ports, and qualify for less strenuous inspections by the United States Coast Guard.
The “White List” ranking for the division of the Cayman Islands Maritime Authority comes from the Paris Memorandum of Understanding on Port State Control.
