One of the Island’s leading law firms has been recognized with top-tier rankings in two prestigious industry publications.
The International Financial Law Review [IFLR] has published its global rankings for 2015, with Conyers Dill & Pearman’s Financial and Corporate departments in Bermuda ranked as Tier 1.
Legal 500,has also just published its rankings for 2015 which gave Tier 1 rankings for the Bermuda-based practices in Corporate and Commercial, Dispute Resolution, Insurance/Reinsurance and Trusts/Private Client.
According to The Legal 500 website, the awards “are based on the opinions of the 250,000 in-house lawyers we contact throughout the year, and the in-depth research that our team conducts into law firms”.
A write-up from Legal 500 says: “Conyers Dill & Pearman’s lawyers ‘utilise great commercial judgment’.
Among the deals highlighted by Legal 500 was the $1.3bn IPO for Markit, a global diversified provider of financial information services, which was oversubscribed ten times.
The IFLR website stated: “The IFLR1000 is an annual guide to the world’s leading financial and corporate law firms. It has been published for 20 years and bases its rankings and analysis on extensive independent research by a dedicated team of journalists.”
In its write-up, IFLR1000 said: “Conyers is arguably the top corporate law firm in Bermuda, a status deriving from its role in securitisations and fund formation for a highly diverse client base.
“Conyers also positions itself at the forefront of regulatory developments affecting global clients doing business in Bermuda. In November 2013, the firm acted as counsel on the first Class A Exempt Fund registered under Bermuda’s new funds regime.”
Earlier this year Conyers was also named Offshore Law Firm of the Year by Chambers & Partners, publisher of the world’s foremost guides to the legal profession.
